Why do we demonstrate a muscle and balance test to validate our products?
The muscle and balance test we use is called Kinesiology (pronounced kin-easy-ology), a Greek word for studying motion. Kinesiology has been used since ancient times to examine muscles and body movement. Dating back to Aristotle (384-322 BC), its advocates have included Leonardo da Vinci (1429-1519) and Luigi Galvani (1737 to 1798), an Italian physician and physicist who studied the electrical basis of nerve impulses.
In the 1960s, Dr. George Goodheart, an American chiropractor, spearheaded the development of Kinesiology into a relatively new branch of science. It has been enhanced by studying Chinese medicine and the meridian system, proving remarkably efficient at revealing the human body's health, energy, and emotional strength. Additionally, advanced veterinary practitioners utilize kinesiology.
Kinesiology Technical Background and History
Since its first peer-reviewed publication in 1915, a substantial body of basic science and clinical research has been conducted on the manual muscle test (MMT). This report confidently provides a historical overview, comprehensive literature review, detailed description, synthesis, and critique of the reliability and validity of MMT in the evaluation of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.
